Maintaining Safestyle double glazing windows

Safestyle claims minimal maintenance is required, but in order to avoid damage to your windows, you should follow the maintenance instructions:
- Four times a year, you should open the window, use a dry paint brush to brush away dirt build-up, and follow up with a vacuum.
- Clean the window channels to ensure the window doesn’t become stiff when opening and closing. Twice a year, lubricate moving parts using the multifunction oil provided by Safestyle or a silicone-based lubricant.
- Avoid using glass cleaner, as it may discolour the uPVC frames. Use regular soap and water on the glass, and wipe using a dry cloth to avoid streaks.
- Windows with leaded designs should be cleaned regularly, especially in the early stages of your installation, as they can often stain.
If condensation forms on the internal side of the window unit, don’t be alarmed. You can resolve this by increasing ventilation inside your home or using a dehumidifier. However, if condensation appears between the glass panes, it is likely your window seal is blown and needs replacing. You should therefore check your guarantee document to see if Safestyle will accommodate this.

“From the first sales meeting all through to the fitting of 18 windows and two doors, the Safestyle team has made this a stress-free experience for me. Daz and his team were fantastic.”—Pauline Owen via Trustpilot
“A good experience throughout, from ordering to the work being done—and not much mess afterwards. The only annoying thing was being asked three times in less than 24 hours about having the other windows and doors done. We explained each time that we can’t afford at the moment and need time to save up as these aren’t as urgent to get done. We will be in touch when we have saved up.”—Lee via Trustpilot
“I got six windows fitted to replace the old leaking ones, and six years later they are still like the first day. [The fitters] came, fitted, and cleaned up all in a few hours’ work. I highly recommend [them].”—O’Neal75 via Review Centre
Our recommendation
With their state-of-the-art production facility, flexible payment plans, price guarantees, and recycling programme, Safestyle is a great option for customers concerned with cost, quality, and environmental impact.
However, we advise that you have a clear vision of what you want before contacting Safestyle so you have an idea of what the quote should include. It’s also a good idea to arrange to inspect the local installation team’s recently completed projects, to ensure quality workmanship.
