2-10 Home Buyers Warranty Reviews

Although 2-10 currently holds accreditation with the BBB, its NR rating is difficult to overlook. We aim to recommend providers that hold a C rating or higher. However, based on the recent consumer reviews we’ve read from the BBB and Best Company, 2-10 provides an overall positive customer experience. Some customers like how quickly 2-10 resolve service requests. Others dislike 2-10’s delay in processing reimbursements.

I like that when I enter my request, they respond immediately. The technician that they sent me was very helpful and respectful, although I have an order that’s still open because the technician doesn’t know how to handle the problem. —Gwendolyn via Best Company

I can’t say enough about the level of service I’ve received from 2-10 HBW and the contractors that have worked on my service requests. Everyone has been responsive, professional, and courteous—and the results in each instance exceeded my expectations. Great job, 2-10 HBW! —A. Waller via Best Company

For the price I pay, it is well worth it. They put my mind at peace knowing I have a company dedicated to being there when issues happen. I’m very happy using this company for all my warranty needs.” —Rod R via BBB

I have made multiple calls regarding a refund for a bad repair of my $75.00. Still have not received it —Tracy via Best Company

“Very unhappy with the company! I have been waiting since January for an appliance buyout payment. Supposedly the check has been sent out twice! Still waiting. I called today to check on the second check and was told I have to wait until the end of the month before a new check can be sent! — Stephanie G via BBB

“Not a happy camper. … I had an issue with the water heater and had the work order on hold. After deciding to proceed, they claimed I said I would prefer a payout. After speaking with three people and professing I never asked for the payout, there was no other option. Difficult to work with and less than desirable customer service.” — Angela M. via BBB

Our Recommendation

Offering basic and comprehensive home protection, flexible coverage options, an extensive workmanship guarantee, and generous coverage caps, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty is worth considering if it matches your needs. However, 2-10’s NR BBB rating prevents us from recommending it. Consider Liberty Home Guard if you’re looking for a reputable home warranty company that offers a solid workmanship guarantee and coverage limits. American Home Shield is another option if you need total home coverage.

Before signing up for a home warranty, we recommend pulling quotes from three providers to compare coverage details, costs, exclusions, and limitations.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty FAQ

What is 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty’s Appliance Replacement Offer?

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty’s Appliance Replacement Offer is its program to help customers replace faulty appliances. It gives you two choices: Request a repair and pay a service call fee, or receive up to $100 in reimbursement funds to purchase a replacement appliance.

Is there a downside to a home warranty?

A downside to a home warranty is its total coverage. A home warranty policy doesn’t cover all home items or provide unlimited coverage limits. Therefore, it’s crucial to carefully read a provider’s sample contract before purchasing a plan to ensure it covers what you need.

How long does a 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty service contract last?

2-10’s service contract typically lasts 12 months. This means 2-10 protects your home’s systems and appliances from unexpected breakdowns within the 12 months that your policy is active.

Does 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty allow me to choose my service contractor?

Typically, 2-10 doesn’t allow you to choose your service contractor unless there is not an in-network technician near you. Before you find a contractor, contact 2-10 and get approval to ensure it will cover your repair.

How We Chose the Top Home Warranty Providers

Our team reviewed and researched dozens of home warranty providers, thoroughly analyzed sample agreements, and identified customer pain points based on analysis of customer reviews and interviews with industry experts. Our in-depth methodology guides our review process to provide transparent information about the companies we review.

During this process, we determined that the most critical aspects of a home warranty company include available service plans and add-ons, depth of coverage, plan cost, industry reputation, customer support infrastructure, and additional features. We also focused on the ability to choose your own contractor, upgrade your coverage package, transfer your plan to another owner, and cover roof leaks, high-end appliance brands, ceiling and exhaust fans, and faucets and fixtures.

Our research supported that plan coverage should carry the most weight, with customer support as the second-most important factor. Industry reputation, plan availability, and additional features were rated equally. We determined that price range, while worth considering, should not be the primary basis for choosing a home warranty provider for your home’s needs.
