AFC Home Club Reviews
Our team analyzed hundreds of customer reviews from sites such as Trustpilot and Google Reviews. Customers were primarily satisfied with AFC Home Club’s prompt service. Several complaints pointed out denied claims and low reimbursements.
Here are some examples of AFC Home Club customer reviews:
“I filed my first claim with AFC Home Club, and they were terrific. The customer service rep, Gigi, was friendly and efficient. She made the whole process easy, and I was reimbursed for the service within 24 hours. I’m happy to be doing business with AFC home club.” —William M. via Google Reviews
“The whole process was easy and performed as advertised. We received a prompt diagnosis of the problem and authorization to move forward with the repair. Parts were ordered, the date was picked for the repair, and the technician showed up and fixed the dryer. Very quick, easy, and professional. I won’t use anyone else for a home warranty.” —Tom F. via Google Reviews
“I have four properties under warranty with AFC Home Club. I had a claim for a $7,000 heating system replacement denied due to the unit being too old. It defeats the purpose of having a home warranty if the age of the unit plays a role in a payout. After various discussions with the customer service team and AFC Home Club legal department, a $500 payment was made. Buyer beware. Better to go with another agency that doesn’t discriminate against the age of the unit but has a yearly claim limit instead.” —Rohel D. via Trustpilot
“Honestly, while they have approved some of my claims, many of the claims that mattered were rejected—particularly my water heater, which was $2k to replace. They told me I was approved for $60, which is laughable (and they have yet to send me a check weeks later). On their coverage page, they very boldly state the size water heater they will cover. My own fell within all of their parameters on that coverage page, but they found a reason not to cover it. Apparently, they will cover your water heater if it malfunctions within the first few years of its life and needs replacing, which never happens and which is likely already covered under a manufacturer warranty. Just save your premium because the big ticket items will not be covered.” —Arianne S. via Google Reviews
We reached out to AFC Home Club regarding these negative consumer reviews but did not receive a response. We recommend thoroughly reviewing the plan terms to understand coverage exclusions before signing up.
How AFC Home Club Compares to the Competition

Our Recommendation
AFC Home Club is a top recommendation due to its plan-length workmanship guarantee, solid coverage caps, and a generous list of add-on coverage options. It also offers a variety of additional perks, such as free credit monitoring and access to identity protection.
Other top providers offer higher coverage caps or a longer list of add-ons, such as Liberty Home Guard and American Home Shield. Before signing up for a policy, we recommend requesting quotes from three providers to compare your customized coverage costs and plan options. Finally, we recommend you read the fine print of a provider’s sample contract to understand coverage exclusions.
AFC Home Club FAQ
How does a home warranty work?
A home warranty covers home items that break down due to wear and tear and that typically aren’t covered by a traditional homeowners insurance policy. When a major system or appliance breaks down, you file a claim with your provider. Your provider will dispatch a service technician to assess, repair, or replace the item. Each time you file a new claim, you must pay a service call fee, which varies in price depending on the provider.
How soon does AFC Home Club coverage begin after I purchase it?
AFC Home Club’s coverage starts after a 30-day waiting period from the day you purchased a policy. That means you can’t file a claim until the initial 30 days pass. If a covered item breaks down during the waiting period, AFC Home Club will not cover it. AFC Home Club waives the 30-day waiting period for real estate transactions if you provide a home inspection.
Do I need a home inspection before I purchase AFC Home Club coverage?
AFC Home Club doesn’t require a home inspection before granting coverage.
What is the average cost of AFC Home Club coverage?
The average cost of AFC Home Club coverage is $50.50 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Your monthly premium may vary based on your home’s size and type, your location, and your coverage options and add-on selections.
How We Chose the Top Home Warranty Providers
Our team reviewed and researched dozens of home warranty providers, thoroughly analyzed sample agreements, and identified customer pain points based on analysis of customer reviews and interviews with industry experts. Our in-depth methodology guides our review process to provide transparent information about the companies we review.
During this process, we determined that the most critical aspects of a home warranty company include available service plans and add-ons, depth of coverage, plan cost, industry reputation, customer support infrastructure, and additional features. We also focused on the ability to choose your own contractor, upgrade your coverage package, transfer your plan to another owner, and cover roof leaks, high-end appliance brands, ceiling and exhaust fans, and faucets and fixtures.
Our research supported that plan coverage should carry the most weight, with customer support as the second-most important factor. Industry reputation, plan availability, and additional features were rated equally. We determined that price range, while worth considering, should not be the primary basis for choosing a home warranty provider for your home’s needs.
