Interstate Moving & Relocation Group (IMRG) operates out of Boca Raton, Florida, as a licensed moving broker with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This means that IMRG is available to coordinate moving services in all 50 states, but the company does not have authorization to move and transport household goods itself. Rather, IMRG acts as an intermediary connecting customers with professional movers.

Our team researched and analyzed key aspects of the moving industry and compiled a list of the best moving companies, detailing top movers such as IMRG.

Services Offered by Interstate Moving & Relocation Group

Interstate Moving & Relocation Group has built an extensive network of full- and self-service moving partners. Full-service movers allow you to have a hands-off moving experience, whereas self-service movers require more heavy lifting for the customer. Many of IMRG’s partners offer specialty services in addition to their basic moving service packages, and you can book an international, interstate, or local move through the brokerage

Below are descriptions of the main services IMRG can coordinate.

Packing Services

IMRG can reserve space on moving trucks with full-service moving companies that have routes between your origin and destination cities. Full-service movers offer professional packing assistance, typically labeling your inventory and packing the items into boxes with the appropriate protective materials. Fragile-only packing is also available.

Most full-service movers will disassemble and reassemble pieces of furniture as necessary to complete the move without damaging the furniture or the home. The moving crews will also load, transport, unload, and unpack your belongings at your new home

Self-Service Moves

Ideal for smaller moves, IMRG partners with some self-service companies, such as PODS. These companies usually rely on portable storage containers that have minimal space requirements, allowing them to fit into areas that moving trucks cannot always access. Customers load these containers without professional assistance, and the moving company will pick up the containers within several business days. The mover then transports the loaded containers to the destination.

Corporate Relocation Services

Relocating employees for a major corporation can be a logistical puzzle, but IMRG has several commercial moving companies in its network available to help. These movers provide full packing and unpacking services and military-grade storage solutions. According to IMRG’s own marketing materials, its corporate movers have a 98% on-time rate for delivering shipments. Some partners are capable of coordinating international moves.

Auto Transport

Shipping a car or truck requires specialized moving equipment and different techniques and not all movers offer vehicle-shipping services. IMRG partners with several carriers that offer vehicle shipping, providing information about a few of its primary partners on the car-shipping section of its website. IMRG also details the vehicle-shipping process and sheds light on what to expect and how to stay financially protected.

Storage Services

Storage solutions will vary among the companies IMRG uses for moving services, but many of its local and interstate movers offer temporary and long-term storage options. As you begin the booking process, you should ask IMRG about storage services and express any need for climate-controlled units.

Piano Moving

Some of IMRG’s partners offer specialty services, such as piano moving. Moving a piano is a headache, and allowing a full-service mover to handle the heavy lifting can help prevent the risk of personal injury and damage to your instrument.

Military Moves

IMRG can coordinate military moving service through several van lines in its network. It advertises that it only uses companies that it trusts with confidentiality for military moves, offering full-service relocation assistance. The company can also arrange the relocation of military equipment and vehicles.

Additional Services

To further personalize your moving experience, IMRG can coordinate other specialty services outside standard offerings. This may include junk removal, GPS tracking, specialized transportation for trade shows, cleaning services, and more.

Interstate Moving & Relocation Group Reviews

We’ve read customer reviews from several third-party review platforms to gain better insight into the customer experience when using IMRG to coordinate moving services. Many customers drew attention to the care and efficiency of the moving crews hired for their services. Some mixed reviews mentioned poor customer support from IMRG and low-quality service from certain companies responsible for handling the move.

Fast and Careful

These guys are great! So fast and careful with my furniture items from start to finish, which was most important for me. Real hard workers. Price was fair. They came with positive attitudes and didn’t complain once.

Thorough and Courteous

This is an excellent company. The movers who moved me were so thorough and courteous. Loved their teamwork. All the furniture was carefully wrapped, and they cleaned as they went along. They arrived on time and did a full day’s work in my three… story townhouse. I read some reviews about the customer service, and I guess when it’s peak season they get backed up, but they were very friendly to me and helpful. Read more

Poor Communication

We used these movers to move our entire household. The men who actually moved our stuff were very good, fast, and professional. But our move coordinator and sales staff were unresponsive and less than helpful. Very poor communication leading up to… the move. And after the move we reached out to them twice to get a receipt emailed to us for the move (because we could not read the receipt that the movers gave to us and couldn’t tell exactly what the final charges were) but never received a response back from the move coordinator. For the next big move we will go with someone else. Read more

Our Recommendation

Interstate Moving & Relocation Group is a moving broker that stands out among many similar companies thanks to its nationwide network that includes international, local, and long-distance moving companies. With a large quantity of third-party reviews available online, it’s much easier to get a sense of IMRG’s reputation compared to smaller and newer brokerages. IMRG’s wide selection of partners also allows it to book numerous specialty services in addition to standard offerings.

Whether you choose to go with a moving broker that outsources services or a standalone carrier, we recommend requesting at least three moving quotes. The more information you have about these companies, the more closely you can examine the details that will determine whether a company is a good fit for you.

How We Chose the Top Moving Providers

We researched and analyzed dozens of full- and self-service moving companies and formulated a moving review methodology based on a number of factors, including package options, pricing, and reputation. We also identified customer pain points based on customer-review analysis, proprietary consumer surveys, and interviews with former and current moving professionals.

Speaking directly to a representative at each company, we determined the number of package options available, the coverage provided, the types of moves available (long-distance, local, and international), and any extra perks offered, such as mobile apps, moving checklists, and 24/7 customer service.

We also gathered pricing data from each of the companies and determined whether they provide ballpark estimates or binding quotes. To determine reputation, we evaluated companies based on their rating with the Better Business Bureau as well as their overall score on Yelp.
