This program exempts property taxes for the added home value solar panel systems provide. It includes a four-year tax abatement of 5% of eligible expenditures. The maximum abatement is $62,500 per year for four years or the building’s annual tax liability, whichever is less.

New York State Solar Equipment Tax Credit

Home Solar Project State Sales Tax Exemption
