I contacted Momentum Solar to investigate the installation of solar panels, as they are available in New Jersey. They assigned me their best Solar Consultants to do the original design and get a quote. They were incredibly patient, helpful and answered all my questions.” —Alan Thomas via Google Reviews

Impressive services! The Momentum installation team was professional and knowledgeable and answered all my queries. The entire installation procedure was smooth, and the solar panels have been working fine for the last 3 weeks! Their employee… keeps harassing me from his company phone—78 calls in two days.” —Cee Cee via Google Reviews

Just wanted some information on solar panels. They are very pushy and don’t leave until you agree on a contract. They give you 5 days to cancel. We just didn’t like the idea of a 25-year contract.” —Torres via Google Reviews

Momentum Solar Overview

Momentum began providing residential solar power systems in New Jersey in 2009. The company now operates in 10 states: California, Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Momentum has also made recent efforts to include solar battery services with its solar panel installations. Currently, the company only offers this service in California, Florida, New Jersey, and Texas.

Though Momentum’s availability is limited, this is deliberate. The company only operates in states with established net-metering programs. A net-metering program is a billing arrangement with your local utility company in which the company tracks your surplus energy production and subtracts that amount from your power bill. Momentum also tends to operate in states with additional solar rebates and tax incentive programs.

Our Recommendation

Momentum Solar offers well-rounded and accessible solar energy systems. The company uses high-quality solar panels that can be easily paired with solar batteries and active monitoring from Enphase. Momentum also has a positive reputation among consumers. However, given that the company only operates in 10 states, your address may not be serviceable.

If you value a company with lots of industry experience and some of the most efficient solar panels, SunPower is another good option. The company is a pioneer in the solar industry with over 35 years of experience in residential solar power systems. If you’re interested in a solar loan, we recommend Blue Raven Solar. The company has an in-house financing program, BluePower Plus, and pays the first 18 months of the loan with no money down for eligible customers.
