What Homeowners Say About Andersen

Here are a few customer reviews for Andersen Windows:

Great Reputation

We chose Andersen windows and doors in our lake house because they have a great reputation for high quality. They are double-paned, and they do not let a lot of energy in or out saving us money in heating or cooling our house. They are easy to clean… and look very clear and so pretty. They are something that we will not have to replace for a very long time. Read more

Highly Recommend

I have built 3 homes in the past 15 years, and while in design and construction, I decided to use Andersen Windows. They are good-looking, and [I] love the way they perform. They make your home look great and provide proper airflow and operate with… ease of use. When building a new home or upgrading your windows in your current home, I highly recommend these products. Discourage From Buying

I would discourage anyone from buying Andersen 200 series windows for their home. I purchased over two dozen windows for my new home under the belief these windows would last and perform better than the competitors. After a little over 11 years, I… have eight window sashes that are deteriorating. I contacted Andersen, and they refuse to accept responsibility to replace them based on their warranty. They stated that ‘not all their windows come out of the factory with the same standards.’ Therefore, I am left responsible for replacing them at my cost. Read more

Andersen Windows Products and Services Available

Window Line Options

Below is an overview of Andersen’s available window lines.

100 Series

The 100 Windows series offers Andersen’s most affordable windows. They’re made from the company’s signature Fibrex composite material, comprising 60% thermoplastic polymer and 40% wood fiber reclaimed from Andersen wood manufacturing.

Andersen says its Fibrex material is twice as durable as vinyl windows and resistant to fungal growth, decay, and rust. These windows include four energy-efficient glass options and work well in all climates. Homeowners can choose from six window styles, six exterior colors, and four interior colors.

200 Series

The 200 series includes higher-quality windows that combine an elegant wood interior with a weather-resistant vinyl exterior. This wood-clad collection offers three of the most popular window styles: double-hung, gliding, and picture. Homeowners have limited options for customization, with only two exterior colors, one wood choice, and one interior color. You can also select Energy Star-certified glass options tailored to various environments.

400 Series

Andersen’s most popular windows catalog, the 400 series, includes seven wood-clad window styles, seven exterior colors, and three interior colors and wood choices. Andersen 400 windows are low-maintenance and offer excellent energy efficiency. This collection also has customizable sizes and grille patterns.

The A-Series offers some of Andersen’s most energy-efficient windows, including maximally efficient triple-pane windows. As a result, Energy Star recognized specific Andersen A-Series window models as Most Efficient in 2022.

The A-series combines wood window interiors with fiberglass and Fibrex composite exteriors. Customers can choose from five popular window styles: awning, double-hung, and specialty windows. This collection offers more extensive customization options, including 11 exterior colors, eight interior colors, and six interior wood choices and finishes.

The E-Series offers the most customization in Andersen’s catalog. The windows are made from a wood and aluminum combination and come in 10 styles, including series-exclusive designs such as push-out awnings and casement windows. Homeowners can choose from the following customization options:

Types of Windows Offered

Andersen Windows offers a smaller catalog of window styles than other manufacturers. Here’s an overview of their product selection.

Andersen also sells various doors, including entry doors, French and hinged patio doors, sliding doors, storm doors, and screen doors.

Energy Efficient Glass Options

Energy-efficient windows keep your home comfortable by preserving your indoor temperature. They also provide long-term savings by reducing your monthly energy usage. According to Energy Star, upgrading your old windows to Energy Star-certified single-pane windows can save you an average of $101 to $583 per year. Andersen offers Energy Star-certified glass options for its complete product catalog.

Below is a list of the energy-efficient options Andersen offers:

Customers can upgrade to double-pane windows for added efficiency. Triple-pane options are available exclusively for the A-Series windows.

Installation Process

Homeowners have several options for Andersen window installation. The company has a network of certified contractors trained to install its products. You can receive a free quote from your local Andersen representatives on the Andersen website. Andersen dealers can also work directly with your architect or contractor to complete your windows project.

Renewal By Andersen, a subsidiary of Andersen Corporation, produces replacement windows and offers complete installation services. It only sells Fibrex composite windows, an excellent option for homeowners looking for affordable replacement windows.

If you prefer to complete your home improvement project yourself, you can buy Renewal by Andersen replacement windows at The Home Depot. These are the only Andersen products you can purchase for do-it-yourself (DIY) projects. All other window models must be purchased through an Andersen dealer or installer.

The Home Depot also offers window installation services. However, installers at home improvement retailers are general window installers, meaning they aren’t specially certified in Andersen installations.

Andersen Pricing and Costs

Andersen doesn’t list window prices on its website. You can request a quote to get pricing information for your new windows.

Based on the pricing available on The Home Depot website, we estimate that Andersen windows cost $680–$2,700. These prices will vary based on several factors, including the type of window selected, the window frame material, and any specialty glass options. In addition, customization such as grilles, hardware, and finishes will increase the cost.

Our Recommendation

Andersen Windows offers a variety of quality products that suit every homeowner’s needs and style. Although the company doesn’t provide installation services directly, you can find certified dealers and installers to complete your project. You can also hire Renewal by Andersen for full-service installation of Fibrex replacement windows

We suggest getting a free quote from Renewal by Andersen to find the perfect choice for your home.
