They Work Flawlessly

All windows and sliding doors in my new home are from Jeld-Wen. They work flawlessly and are easy to slide. Build quality and color selection are awesome too. I’ve shown my special large sliding door to friends and recommended Jeld-Wen. I’m… planning to replace another window with either a sliding or accordion style door. Read more

Will Never Use Another Manufacturer

We built our house 13 years ago and installed Jeld-Wen windows. I could not be happier with not only the look of the windows, but also the quality and the overall way in which they help to regulate the temperature in our home. I will never use any… other manufacturer other than Jeld-Wen. Thank you, Jeld-Wen! Read more

Highly Disappointing

eld-Wen will refuse to service warranty on windows. I just now received my screens a year later from install. Main front window shows cracks in corners, and the representative refused to have a technician come out to look. This is after three months… of back and forth with them. Highly disappointing. Jeld-Wen Windows Products and Services Available

Types of Windows Offered

Jeld-Wen offers a catalog of simple yet stylish windows, including the following window types.

Jeld-Wen also offers a variety of exterior, interior, and patio door options, including all-panel, glass panel, Dutch, and sliding designs.

Energy Efficient Glass Options

Jeld-Wen provides energy-efficient glass and window frame options to help homeowners reduce their energy costs. Since 1998, the company has partnered with Energy Star to produce windows and doors that meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s standards. According to Energy Star, replacing old windows with Energy Star-certified products can reduce your energy bills by 12% on average.

Jeld-Wen offers a variety of glass options with low-emissivity (low-e) coatings to reduce heat transfer and maintain optimal internal home temperatures. The company also offers argon gas and other upgrades to protect your home from extreme external temperatures. Jeld-Wen can customize its windows to specific geographical locations and weather conditions. The company offers five low-e window options:

Installation Process

Jeld-Wen doesn’t install its own windows or maintain a dedicated list of professional installers for its products. Instead, the company sells its products through authorized dealers and retail locations. You can visit these locations to see the products in person and test their functionality. In home improvement stores, you’ll be able to see the products available and choose the best options for your home. Many of these locations also have design consultants and trained installers to assist with your project.

An installer will review your project plans and offer suggestions about the best products for your home and budget. Once you’ve decided on your windows, they’ll set an installation date. Many installers make an on-site visit either during the initial quote process or before the installation date. Window technicians will take final measurements of your windows to ensure they’re installed properly. Depending on the size of your project, the full installation could be completed in one day or over several days.

You may be able to install windows yourself if you’re a skilled do-it-yourself (DIY) enthusiast. Since Jeld-Wen products are available at retail stores, you can purchase the products directly. This would be a good option for a small DIY project, such as two or three windows. We recommend hiring a professional windows installation company if you’re planning a large-scale windows upgrade.

Jeld-Wen Windows Pricing

Jeld-Wen doesn’t list windows prices on its website. You’ll need to contact one of the company’s dealers to get cost information for your project. Jeld-Wen products are also available at retail stores such as Lowe’s or The Home Depot. Based on the pricing available on those sites, Jeld-Wen windows average between $150 and $900.

The company offers a product comparison guide on its website to compare styles and includes a dollar sign price point scale. The total cost of your replacement windows will vary based on the window product selected, any customization, and energy efficiency upgrades.

Your selected window material will also impact your final cost. Jeld-Wen offers 12 styles of aluminum, composite, vinyl, and wood products. Here’s a breakdown of the available window materials and product lines

Aluminum Windows

Aluminum windows are durable, low-maintenance, and reasonably priced. However, they aren’t as energy-efficient as other window materials.

Jeld-Wen’s Atlantic aluminum windows are tailored to homeowners in areas such as Florida and the Gulf Coast that experience moderate storms. These affordable windows come in two styles: single-hung and horizontal sliding. Both styles are customizable with two frame colors, specialty glasses, and grille designs. Jeld-Wen’s aluminum windows include a 10-year limited warranty with two years of labor coverage. There are no transferable coverage options.

Composite Windows

Composite windows are made by combining wood, vinyl, or plastics to improve the material’s strength. Wood and vinyl are combined to create windows with minimal upkeep, excellent energy efficiency, and long-lasting durability.

Jeld-Wen’s Auraline Composite windows offer twice the durability of vinyl and include scratch-resistant integrated colors. These windows work in all climates and include slimmer frames and bigger panes for maximum light. Homeowners can shop five styles and choose from three color options. Your windows are backed by a 10-year limited lifetime warranty, two years of labor coverage, and a 10-year transferable coverage.

Vinyl Windows

Vinyl windows provide good energy efficiency, little maintenance, and moderate durability. Jeld-Wen vinyl windows are the most economical window options. The company’s vinyl catalog includes six styles that complement any architectural design and offer the largest range of window styles. Warranty coverage lasts as long as you own your home, plus two years of labor coverage. Vinyl windows also include 10-year transferable coverage protection.

Wood Windows

Wood windows offer the broadest range of customization and styles in the Jeld-Wen collection. These windows deteriorate faster than other materials and have the highest price tags. The company offers an extensive collection of wood and wood-clad options. Its wood windows include a 20-year warranty, two years of labor coverage, and 10 years of transferable coverage.

Our Recommendation

Though Jeld-Wen has a wide selection of window types, including energy-efficient options, we ultimately don’t recommend the company for a few reasons. Its lack of online pricing transparency is inconvenient for customers. It also has no certified installation team and doesn’t offer a labor warranty, which affects confidence in the product and installation quality.

Finally, the company has received many negative reviews. In particular, customers have reported that Jeld-Wen is difficult to reach after installation for ongoing service needs. While it has an online service request customers can fill out, there’s no phone number to call to speak with a real person. We recommend choosing a company with a certified installation team and more accessible customer support. See our list of best window brands for reputable options.
